The Australian band Gang of Youths makes raw indie rock. Foo Fighters and Mumford and Sons have already brought them along as ‘Special Guests’ for their stadium tours.
The sympathetic singer and guitarist Dave Le’aupepe wrote the debut album “The Positions” for his terminally ill wife and his attempts to commit suicide. This resulted in powerful songs played with the utmost passion.
In 2017 the band released their second album “Go Farther in Lightness”, with which they won four ARIA’s, including one for album of the year. Gang of Youths manages to touch a nerve with their more emotionally laden songs, but they also have quite a few heavy rock songs and sing-a-long choruses. With ‘Let Them Down Easy’, Gang of Youths had a terrific festival hit a few years back. This Spring their brand-new album “Angel in Realtime” came out.
