Hans Dulfer, the best-known saxophone player in The Netherlands, is coming back with a spectacular anniversary tour at the age of 85. With the typically ruthless sound and energetic grooves of his all-star band Dulfer! Total Experience in mind, this is promising to be an unforgettable night. After a career of over 60 years Dulfer has had a lasting impact on the international and especially Dutch world of music. From platinum records to boundary-pushing collaborations and iconic concerts: Dulfer continues to inspire and amaze.
Dulfer’s Total Response has an all-star line-up with members from the most successful periods of Dulfer’s career. Guitarist Jerôme Hol is one of the most spectacular and wanted guitar players of the moment, an incredible rock improviser in the spirit of Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix. Drummer Hans Eijkenaar, who worked with the best of the Dutch and international acts that Anouk, Kane and Kayak, and who can be heard to dozens of top 40 hits, is a well-known fixture among drummers and rarely to be seen in an intimate stage setting. This year he was once again chosen as the best Fusion/World drummer by the readers of Slagwerkkrant. Bas guitarist Ishaq van Niel is someone you have to see first before you believe such a bass virtuoso exists: his style is physical, highly skilled and incredibly musical. Koen Schouten, who played with Caro Emerald and Michelle David (among others), gives the animal-like baritone sax a new dimension with a unique solo sound.
