
Swedish singer-songwriter Amanda Bergman is known for her warm and hoarse vocals, reaching people all over the world with her music for over a decade. Under the name Hajen (and later Idiot Wind), she started playing songs with just piano, guitar and her remarkable voice.
She has been on tour with First Aid Kid and Tallest Man on Earth. She was also married to the latter at some point and she collaborated with him on music for the Swedish film “Once a Year”. Bergman also worked together with Lykke Li and scored a hit with the cover ‘Vintersaga’ that was used for a Volvo commercial.
Later, the became vocalist in the band Amason (which also included members from Dungen and Motorpsycho); this band was quite successful in the USA. All throughout, Amanda kept writing and composing new songs. In 2016, her debut album “Docks” came out, an album that was praised by some of her personal heroes, including Justin Vernon and Adam Granduciel.
In recent years, she was not only working on new music, but she also pre-occupied with her own farm, as well as with some mental health issues. In 2024, her second album “Your Hand Forever Checking on My Fever” came out on her own label CowCow. New work is on the way and more importantly: Amanda is back on the road, taking her band to Nijmegen.
