CCC Inc. was the first Americana band in the Netherlands, making it the oldest at the same time. From the pop festival in Kralingen (’70) and Pinkpop (’71) to Pinkpop Classic (’13), from the opening of Paradiso (’68) and De Melkweg (’70) to the summer pop festival in Meerlo (’24), from youth club to stadium: CCC Inc. experienced them all. The members of the group have made a name for themselves outside of the band as well, from director of Paradiso and the National Pop Institute (Nationaal Pop Instituut), as well as founders and musicians of the group Doe Maar, the biggest sensation in Dutch pop history.
It’s an absolute blast to see the four friends that were there at the very start of all, each of them far past 75 years of age, still making music to this day. And they still have the same passion now as they did in their younger days, still just as contrary. Even though the band had always been extremely successful, selling out venues left and right, they never had much of a presence on the radio. This is something the band is proud of, however. With their age in mind, each of their performances is bound to be an exciting and sensational experience, making the audience wonder if they’ll make it to the end of it. It’s clear they are still going for it though. There is no better way to celebrate the 60th birthday of your band than by doing so on the stage in front of an audience.
