Geordie Greep is not just co-founder and front man of Black Midi, but he is also responsible for his 2024 solo debut “The New Sound”, a daring and innovative exploration that challenges existing notions about music.
Greep creates a musical landscape full of energetic jazz-funk, soulful vignettes and unexpected narrative twists. Inspirations include Milton Nascimento, Keith Jarrett and Egberto Gismonti. The album was recorded on two continents with over thirty session musicians, reflecting Greep’s dedication to artistic freedom and collaboration. “The New Sound” is a milestone in modern music, full of unbridled creativity and daring tales. Creativity and daring are part of Geordie Greep’s DNA, who keeps looking for ways to reinvent himself and his music. Tonight, Greep will play both old and new work with two other musicians, so as a trio.
