The music of Texan trio Shallowater combines slowcore, post-hardcore, country and Americana. This results in a sound that they describe as “Raw West Texan dirtgaze” themselves.
Shallowater brings the sombre raw landscape of West Texas to life with their music. Their debut album “There Is a Well” (2023) received a lot of praise because of the masterful use of elements from slowcore, post-hardcore and country. Deep, melancholy ballads and deafening distortion: Shallowater pushes the boundaries of conventional genres to create their own blend of Americana. It’s a dark, desolate soundscape of their home.
Last year, their second album “God’s Gonna Give You a Million Dollars” came out. This is a compelling, atmospheric record that combines slowcore and post-rock with slow, melancholy country influences.
