Ruben Hillen
Ruben Hillen is a Dutch singer-songwriter who rose to fame through his participation in the thirteenth season of The Voice of Holland. With his distinctive voice, sincere performances, and strong stage presence, he managed to win over both the coaches and the viewers. He combines emotion, energy, and musicality in his performances, in which influences from pop, soul, and modern singer-songwriter music come together.
Despite his down-to-earth nature, Ruben manages to win over the audience at every performance through his intensity and honesty, qualities that have made him a promising new name within the Dutch music scene. Even before his participation in The Voice, Ruben was active in music for years as the front man of the cover band Unite, where he gained a lot of live experience and developed into a versatile performer.
Immediately after winning the finale, he released his first solo single, ’20 Seconds’, produced by Arno Krabman. It is a country-tinged track that immediately shot up the streaming charts following his victory. The day after the finale, coaches Suzan & Freek announced that Ruben will perform as the opening act for their concerts at the GelreDome and that he will also perform at Concert at Sea in June.
