The album “Where Fear and Weapons Meet” from 2021 came out via Napalm Records and made its way to numerous Best of the Year shortlists. And rightly so, as it’s a top-quality record. The Great War from the past century is once again the thematic inspiration. The horrific nature of this conflict is contextualized in a majestically gruesome manner through eleven songs. The overall sound is reminiscent of the works of grandmasters like Bolt Thrower and Asphyx, who have explored similar themes in the past. With their aggressive, bombastic songs, 1914 is at the front of the extreme metal scene. And rightly so! New work is on the way and we expect it to be as terrific as the rest.

Katla has only been around for a couple of years, but they have already managed to make quite a name for themselves in the Danish metal scene. Just like the eponymous dragon, Katla casts a fiery flame of hellfire that encapsulates the entire stage. This is heavy and uncompromising doom, firing on all cylinders.
