Detroit-based ADULT. has been making DIY post-punk, deafening electro and synth-wave since the turn of the century. Their music makes sense in relation to their hometown, as it’s commonly known as the US capital of techno music.
‘Husband and wife’ duo Adam Lee Miller and Nicola Kuperus have built a name for themselves with their soundtracks about the horrors of modern life. They have been exploring the dark underbelly of club culture which they have tried to dismantle by incorporating themes like obsession and psychosis, and by adding a whiff of pitch-black humor. Their electronic beats are loud and industrial, and their haunted vintage eighties reverb and destructive noise tendencies are a fitting addition. In April ADULT. will take this lethal cocktail to Merleyn.
