Alcest

Typical for their sound is the harmony of dreamy melodies, melancholy atmosphere, powerful dynamics and esoteric vocals. In recent years, Alcest investigated the conceptual edges of their project. On their fourth album, the band moved away from their metal roots to explore the dream pop sound, only to return to their early sound on 2016’s “Kodma”. “Spiritual Instinct” from 2019 combines the lighter and darker elements of both those albums.

On 21 June, their latest album “Les chants de l’Aurore” came out, which will be performed in Doornroosje during their only tour date on Dutch soil.

BRUIT ≤, which also hails from France, was founded with the intent to get rid of large record companies and streaming platforms, instead returning to a creative process without restrictions. The fantastic album “The Machine Is Burning and Now Everyone Knows It Could Happen Again” from 2021 offers a unique sound that can best be described as a mix of modern classical music and post-rock that is sometimes reminiscent of Godspeed You! Black Emperor. New work is on the way.
