After a year-long sabbatical, Barbara Pravi is back with a new single, ‘Bravo’. This is the first teaser for a new album that will come out in the Fall of 2024. She will kick off a European tour then as well, which also brings her to the Netherlands.
In 2021, Barbara Pravi represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest, reaching second place with the song ‘Voilà’. This became a national hit that was awarded with a Diamond Single and a Platinum Record status in France. In the same year, she won the Sacem Grand Prize for song of the year, and in 2022 she was hailed as ‘Female Revelation’ at the Victoires de la Musique with her album “On n’enferme pas les oiseaux” (which translates to “We do not lock up birds in cages”).
After a tour with 120 shows in over 20 countries, with a number of sold-out ones in the Netherlands as well, she has proven to be an artist who sings and lives for her audience. Her concerts are spectacular and are more than just a regular concert experience. She unites and inspires her audience.
The music of the chanteuse is deeply rooted in French language tradition; she found inspiration in the works of Jacques Brel and Edith Piaf and used these influences for a fresh, contemporary interpretation of the chanson. She is also socially aware, as evidenced by her contribution to the rights of women. She has been holding speeches for this cause every year on 8 March ever since 2018.
