South London band Bears in Trees describes itself as a “dirtbag boyband” and mixes indie rock and emo-rock with folk and punk. Earlier this year, they played several sold-out shows in Europe. They are heading out on tour again and are coming to Merleyn for a show!
The band creates cheerful yet chaotic songs that sometimes bring to mind acts like The 1975, Fall Out Boy, and Cavetown. Bears in Trees’ own distinctive style is that they occasionally add a wind instrument and ukulele to their sound.
The lyrics of their songs are both introspective and poetic, dealing with growing up, personal struggles, and absurdist imagery. In their relatively short existence, they have managed to build a true online fanbase.
