Birds In Row is a post-hardcore band from Laval, France. The trio have decided to stay anonymous in videos in and promo photos, only referring to themselves as B, D or T. While that may sound pretentious, it does convey their message quite well, as it relates to the existential shape of fear. And that’s something present in their tough, dark post-hardcore.
While the sound on their second album “We’ve Already Lost the World” is darker, slower and gloomier than on their debut, Birds In Row is still as fierce as ever. The songs are an intense attack on the ear drums, but also contain a soulful melodious core that offer moments of relief and a slower pace. The album was among the favourites of 2018 for many people, and justly so. The band has been working on a successor for a few years now. This will come out soon, just in time for their show in Nijmegen.
Highly recommended to fans of Touché Amouré, Defeater, These Arms Are Snakes and The Dillinger Escape Plan.
