Blue Grass Boogiemen
The Blue Grass Boogiemen have been playing traditional Bluegrass in a sensational fashion since 1990.
“Delivering the Grass since 1990”, that’s the band’s motto. In the past 15 years, the group has grown into one of the best-known Dutch interpreters of the all-American bluegrass genre.
The band has played a lot of successful festival shows in The Netherlands and Ireland, among others. They have toured the USA a few times as well. The Washington Post wrote the following about them: “The Boogiemen mimicked American music icons with absolute accuracy and joy…” The Boogiemen play a mixture of traditional and modern Bluegrass, of course using acoustic instruments like guitar, double-bass, 5-string banjo and mandolin, as well as beautiful harmonic vocals. By listening to traditional Bluegrass, the musicians have found a lot of inspiration for their own playing style, becoming a staple on the Dutch circuit in the process.
