Jason Kohnen is a sonic powerhouse that has been exploring the outer edges of electronic music with Bong-Ra since the late nineties. As one of the pioneers of the breakcore scene, he is known for his uncompromising sound that combines heavy jungle breaks, industrial hardcore and dark jazz and metal influences into an explosive mix.
With his energetic and ruthless productions, he was responsible for a number of legendary releases on labels like Planet Mu, PRSPCT and Ad Noiseam. Bong-Ra’s typical style is combined with lightning-fast beats, deep basslines and twists and turns that guarantee an intense listening experience. Live shows are renowned for their pure force and raw energy, with Bong-Ra breaking down the boundaries of genres and dragging his audience into a mesmerizing maelstrom of sound.
After his early breakcore days, Bong-Ra developed into a multi-talented artist that effortlessly experiments with doom jazz, black metal and avant-garde compositions.
