Bright Eyes is the beloved band fronted by lyricist and singer Conor Oberst. Since the lates nineties, the band has been known for their melodious, eccentric indie folk songs, Oberst’ sharp and critical lyrics, and his unique voice.
Nowadays, the band is on the tasteful label Dead Oceans, which is also reissuing old Bright Eyes material. This is an impressive body of work that includes beloved, classic albums like “Fevers and Mirrors”, “I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning” and “Cassadaga”.
In 2020, Bright Eyes released their first album in a very long time. It is relevant to mention that Oberst was still very much active in the years beforehand though. Busy bee Oberst released an album with singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridger under the Better Oblivion Community Center name, toured with his punk band Desaparecidos, and made a number of solo albums.
