Cardinals

Two years ago, these twenty-somethings debuted with single ‘Amsterdam’. Their music consists of a unique mix of alternative rock, folk, shoegaze, and gothic rock and the band has clearly been looking for inspiration in music from the sixties and nineties. The six-piece band doesn’t stick to one clear genre lane, either. The result is a fascinating mixture of shoegaze, Irish folk rock and even elements from the ‘Wall of Sound’ from the sixties. Front man Euan Manning describes it as “warm pop music with bit of punk”.

Meanwhile, Cardinals has become of the more serious upcoming bands within the alternative music scene and it’s just a matter of time before they make it to the big stage. First stop: Merleyn!
