Carl Stone & Miki Yui: Realistic Monk

Realistic Monk is the performance project of Carl Stone with artist and composer Miki Yui. Stone is one of the pioneers of live electronic music and has been pushing boundaries since 1972. Sampling is at the core of all of his compositions and he manages to stretch that technique to a point that will unsettle even the most weathered of experimental music fans (in a good way!). Japanese artist Yui combines her compositions with drawings and sound installations that focus on subtlety. At first glance these are two musicians on opposite sides of the spectrum, so it is going to be very interesting to see them combine their sounds live on stage and make it work.
