Cellar Darling is a Swiss folk-rock band that creates sonic landscapes that stimulate the imagination. Formed by former members of iconic band Eluveitie, Cellar Darling developed a unique sound that incorporates influences from folk, rock and progressive rock to an engaging whole.
With their deep lyrics and impressive instrumental skills, Cellar Darling mesmerizing the audience with their dynamic compositions and emotional performances. Singer Anna Murphy charms them with her magical voice and her flute, while guitarist Ivo Henzi and drummer Merlin Sutter put down a solid rhythmic basis, bring complex melodies to life. Concept album “The Spell” from 2019 is an absolute gem full of melodious songs with a perfectly balanced mix between light and heavy. The most recent EP “Dance” from 2021 is on par as well, quality-wise. Especially Murphy’s vocals draw attention: with her crystal-clear voice she isn’t all that far off from Anneke van Giersbergen, which is intended as a compliment.
