Cocobolo

The band consists of Erik Bandt (guitar) Hilde Luytjes (bass) and Ties Voskamp (drums). Since 2022, they have been putting out music that sounds like a retro-mix of old-school funk, surf guitar, and psychedelic grooves. Their songs are often described like short films: evocative, narrative and stimulating the imagination.

In 2023, their first EP “Songs for Bad Dancers” came out, followed by releases like “Elderflower” and the album “Consider It Done”. Cocobolo performed at festivals like the Popronde and Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS). They are inspired by acts like Menahan Street Band, Orions Belte and Yussef Dayes.

Their music demonstrates that instrumental tracks can be just as engaging and catchy as pop hits with vocals. They have established themselves as a refreshingly creative voice within the Dutch music scene.
