After a six-year absence, the Leuven post punk band Customs is back again with two new singles and the promise to release new music every month. It’s the start of a new life for them.
Customs quickly made it to the top with their first two albums. Debut album “Enter the Characters” went gold and successor “Harlequins of Love” did quite well, too. Their single ‘Rex’ was a hit, as well as singles ‘Justine’, ‘The Matador’ and ‘Shut up, Narcissus’ found an audience in both Belgium and the Netherlands.
Singer and front man Kristof Uittebroek and his band won “vi.be on air” (nowadays: De Nieuwe Lichting), went gold with their debut “Enter the Characters”, and played the Rock Werchter main stage on the same day as Green Day, LCD Soundsystem and Editors. In 2018, the band called it quits.
Kristof and co. are back with an answer to the question what post punk can be in 2025 and are returning to their DIY punk roots from a quarter century ago.
