Daði Freyr was born in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik. After completing his musical education in Berlin, he founded the band Gagnamagnið. With this project, he released ‘Think About Things’, which was the original Icelandic entry for 2020’s Eurovision contest. Unfortunately, that edition was cancelled, but he was sent to represent Iceland again a year later.
He entered the Eurovision stage with the even bigger hit ’10 Things’ in 2021. His sublime, energetic live performance led to a world-wide fanbase, not in the least because of the choreography, the perfect sweater choice, excellent synth-pop and a large dose of positivity.
