For his first couple of albums, Swedish singer-songwriter Daniel Norgren found inspiration in the blues. He has been evolving into a whole new sound ever since however. Daniel and his band are coming to Doornroosje in September.
Daniel Norgren is a multi-instrumentalist, although it’s his remarkable voice that draws most of the attention. Sometimes he sounds a bit like Bob Dylan; at other times his voice is close to that of Neil Young. His most recent album “Wooh Dang” (2019, recorded in a textile factory) may be his best so far, exploring in a virtuous yet ramshackle way all of the outer edges of roots music that include blues, country and americana. We can already get in the mood for the performance: last year a live album (simply called “Live”) came out. Country ballads rub shoulders in a pleasant manner with up-tempo blues songs at which this Swedish lonesome cowboy excels.
