Death Bells
Death Bells are an ambitious, six-piece band that originally hail from Sydney, Australia. Youth friends Will Canning and Remy Veselis already decided back in middle school that they wanted to form a new wave band. Their debut album “Standing at the Edge of the World” (2017) is like a time machine that takes you back 40 years into the past, back to the dreamy new wave era of the early eighties.
The band has seen some line-up changes and they’ve moved from Sydney to Los Angeles. They’ve now released the successor “New Signs of Life”, which is an album full of engaging guitar-driven rock that cuts out all the somber elements and introduces a new sense of positivity and breeziness. Flanked by a number of renowned underground musicians, Canning and Veselis are reflecting upon a turbulent phase in their lives and are now focused on the future. After a successful show at Roadburn Redux, Death Bells will play a show in Merleyn in 2022.
