‘The Don’ is coming back to Nijmegen for a performance with ‘The Donny Benét Show Band’. ‘Mr. Experience’, ‘Konichiwa’, ‘Santorini’: these songs can only be traced back to the one and only Donny Benét. He’s also referred to as ‘Prince on a serious budget cut’ and the favourite nephew of Giorgio Moroder, Alan Vega and Michael McDonald.
Donny Benét hails from Sydney and first came to the fore with his 2011 debut album “Don’t Hold Back”. His fourth album “The Don” was his big breakthrough. He played his first European tour in 2018, becoming one of the big breakout acts at the Valkhof Festival. On the same tour he also played a sold-out show in Merleyn and at Down the Rabbit Hole. Just before the Pandemic he released the album “Mr. Experience”. During the forced hiatus he kept himself busy by making instrumental songs, bringing together his skills as a bass-player and synth wizard.
