After four much-praised albums, international hits and world tours, Dotan has gone back to making new music. And yet it feels as if his journey is just beginning. In 2025, the Dutch singer-songwriter finally let go of who and where others expect him to be as an artist. He has learned to embrace both the light and the darkness within himself.
As he embodies both of these now, his new material carries them as well. By daring to face every side of himself, his vision has never been clearer. He wants to play, tell stories, and connect. His new work is an unfiltered portrait of where he stands in life, both as an artist and as a person. “It will be my fifth album, but it feels more like a second debut,” says the singer.
Doran has been one of the most successful artists in The Netherlands for over ten years. The singer-songwriter broke through in 2014 with the huge hit ‘Home’ that came from his second album “7 Layers”. The album was a massive success, reaching the top of the Album Top 100. ‘Home’ wasn’t just an evergreen in The Netherlands, but also found international success. In Canada, the song actually reached the top of the charts as recently as last year.
