Dubioza Kolektiv
The collective Dubioza Kolektiv, hailing from Bosnia, is a very welcome sight at festivals and music venues. With their new single ‘I Am From Bosnia, Take Me to America’, the band has been going viral online for several weeks now, breathing new life into the original song ‘U.S.A.’ released in 2011. We are delighted that Dubioza Kolektiv is returning to the Red Stage of Doornroosje!
The band puts a whole new spin on the concept of “eclectic”, combining styles like ska, punk, reggae, electronica, Balkan music, and hip hop. The energy level is always high and the party atmosphere is guaranteed, while their lyrics often address serious subjects. Regarding this, keyboardist Brano Jakubović says: “Our songs prove that people can dance and think at the same time.”
The single ‘I Am From Bosnia, Take Me to America’ has since been transformed into the unofficial anthem for the Bosnian football team participating in the World Cup. As the Kolektiv confirms, the band has a high DIY factor. All their albums are available for free download on their website.
