American artist Emma Ruth Rundle writes gorgeous, poetic songs, wrapped in engaging soundscapes that hold a middle ground in between folk, post rock and ambient. It’s minimalistic, yet at the same time drenched in emotion and heavy, dark layers of sound. Nowadays she makes waves as a solo artist, but she used to be the creative mastermind behind post rock bands Red Sparrowes and Marriages.
As of now, Emma Ruth Rundle has released four albums under her own name. During the first year of Covid, 2020, she released an album with American sludge metal band Thou called “May Our Chambers Be Full”. This is a dark piece of immense beauty that will cut to the bone. She recently released the video ‘Return’, which will be featured on a new album called “Engine of Hell”. The song is in a completely different ballpark than what you’d expect based on the previous album. The song is very personal and intimate, led by just a piano. It’s dark yet beautiful, and an impressive teaser for things to come. Her music in this form is perfect for a live location like De Stevenskerk. We can’t wait!
This is a seated concert with no fixed seating arrangement.
