Erika Angell’s debut album is a vocal journey of discovery, which sounds like an artistic electronic set of compositions with influences from artists like Scott Walker, Jenny Hval, Brigitte Fontaine, and Circuit Des Yeux, but also like The Knife and Björk. She worked together with artists like Leonard Cohen, Loney Dear and Patrick Watson as well in the past. During her live show in Merleyn, Angell will perform as a duo.
With her band Thus:Owls, she has played in Nijmegen several times. She also collaborated with numerous artists, including Ben Frost, SUUNS and Sigur Rós. The career of the Swedish artist is impressive, although it took until this year for her debut solo album to come out. The record was released through the renowned Canadian label Constellation Records (also home to Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Colin Stetson).
