The “Emperor of the Balkan” is coming to Nijmegen! Goran Bregović brings along his Wedding and Funeral Orchestra to the Vereeniging for a party with irresistible Balkan brass.
During the seventies, from behind the Iron Curtain, Goran Bregović gradually turned into the “Emperor of the Balkan”. The musician and composer from Bosnia and Herzegovina invites everyone to dance on the festive and energetic music of his orchestra from the Balkan. He’s also quite capable of touching you deeply though with his gorgeous ballads with a laugh and a tear.
With his Wedding and Funeral Band, he is going to play songs of the successful album “Three Letters From Sarajevo”, in which he combines classical music of Christians, Jewish klezmer and oriental Muslim music: three religions and three cultures from his home town of Sarajevo that have shaped him as a human and musician. Bregović’s typical compositional style seems to appeal to everyone on Earth, regardless of cultural background, gender, age or religion.
There are both seat and floor spots. It is not possible to reserve seating arrangements.
