Grote Geelstaart
Zeeland band Grote Geelstaart is like a tightrope-walker that is in constant danger of losing their balance. It is noise, but carefully orchestrated in a way that it strengthens itself through the process, up to a point of breaking.
They drag tons of instruments to each stage, including two drum kits and a collection of pedals that would even make harsh noise afficionados do a double-take. With bitter sounds and even more bitter chord changes, they create a live show that is both oppressive and suffocating, like a fish on dry land. Grote Geelstaart mesmerizes the audience with manic, danceable compositions that turn into a whole during live shows.
They wear smart shirts and ties on stage, but other than that there is little that keeps up the appearance of a bunch of nice guys.
After impressive performances at Valkhof Festival and Zeitgeist (both in 2025), Grote Geelstaart is coming back now for a show of their own in Merleyn.
