Nashville glam rocker Gyasi (pronounced as Jay-See) lives and plays glam rock. The modern rock star takes you into his world of glam and rock ‘n roll with a sound with obvious influences like T. Rex, David Bowie, Gary Glitter, The Hives and The White Stripes.
Originally, Gyasi grew up in West Virginia, in a village in the middle of nowhere. Gyasi is his real name; he was also different from his class mates when he was young. He grew up in a free-thinking family, played guitar from the age of four and wore make-up from a very young age. He struggled with gender and is convinced that his male and female sides are in equal balance. Growing up in a conservative community that didn’t accept him for who he was, making music was initially an escape for the glam rocker, but eventually turned into a means to freedom.
Gyasi recently released his latest record “Rock and Roll Sword Fight” and will take this album on tour, including to Merleyn.
