Alexander Hacke is a member of the legendary act Einstürzende Neubauten. Together with Danielle de Picciotto, co-founder of the Berlin Love Parade and lead singer of Space Cowboys, they are hackedepicciotto. This is an experimental project that is characterized by a dark, industrial, cinematic atmosphere that combines doom folk and post rock with drones, spaghetti western soundtracks, and jazz.
Their collaboration mostly consists of exciting soundscapes, created by combining acoustic instruments like the violin with bass guitar and electronics. They refer to their own music as ‘cinematic drone’. Of the six albums they’ve released so far is “The Silver Threshold” (2021) their most recent and also most symphonic one so far. The album contains a rare moment of silence and reflection – and deals with almost everything from love to the fragility of the world.
