Hippotraktor
Within a short time, Hippotraktor has managed to become a fixture in the Belgian and international progressive metal scene. The band from Mechelen combines technical precision with an outspoken sense for atmosphere, resulting in a layered an intense sound.
Since debut “Meridian” (2021) and successor “Stasis” (2024) have come out through Pelagic Records, the band has been praised for their complex compositions, powerful production and coherent artistic vision.
Typical for Hippotraktor is the balance between heavy, polyrhythmic structures and melodic, atmospheric sections. Influences from sludge, post-metal and djent are brought into the mix without losing focus. Live on stage, the band only emphasizes their terrific reputation, having played rousing shows at Graspop, ArcTanGent, Motocultor and our very own Soulcrusher.
New material is on the way, so as good an excuse as any to go out on tour, which includes a stop at Nijmegen. Hippotraktor is highly recommended to fans of well-known bands like Gojira, Meshuggah and The Ocean, but also Psychonaut, Pothamus and MÚR.
