Iron Jinn

The eighteen-minute-long song ‘The Futurist’ is the first single of the new album, which combines jazzy chords with repetitive psychedelic structures. It is subtle, intense and eventually explodes into a raw finale. The band have referred to their new approach as “Reich & Roll”. Is this a cynical nod or a bit of hope? The answers are with Wout Kemkens and Oeds Beydals, the core members of Iron Jinn. These men reflect on a world in which technology and data have reached an almost religious status, one humanity just can’t seem to get a grip on. These themes aren’t exactly uplifting and they resonate through all of the seven songs that are on the new record. It was recorded by Pieter Kloos in an actual dance studio. Perhaps the recording location is an apt one, as despite the heavy themes, the music is breezier than the previous work.

Iron Jinn have asked zZz to warm up the stage as special guests. This Amsterdam-based kraut-sleaze rock band is quite familiar, exactly knowing how to work a crowd. With a devilish combination of keys, vocals and drums, they are bound to get the audience going.
