The much-praised American songwriter Joan As Police Woman is coming back to Nijmegen this Summer. With one of her unique and rare solo performances, she will play in the Stevenskerk during the Vierdaagse. For this show she strips her music to its core: only using her voice, piano and guitar. As always Joan sings straight from the heart while enrapturing her audience.
Joan has an impressive resumé. She was a member of bands like The Dambuilders, Those Bastard Souls and Black Beetle. She also played in the backing band of artists like Jeff Buckley, Antony & The Johnsons, Lou Reed, Sparklehorse, and Rufus Wainwright. The latter gave Joan her big break by taking her on tour as his support act, partly launching her solo career in the process.
