“Pergola”, the second album of power pop band JOHAN, turns 25 this year and that’s why the band has decided to go on a special anniversary tour for it. Front man Jacob de Greeuw says the following about it: “To me, Pergola is an album very close to my heart that came about after a period of heavy depression. Band members were quitting, a record deal in the US collapsed. I decided to soldier on with drummer Wim Kwakman and put everything we had into the album, together with friend and producer Frans Hagenaars. This was a beautiful, joyful yet also sad process. I am still very proud of the remarkable end result: a tale of falling and getting up, of dealing with disappointment but also which – more than I initially realised – contained lots of hope and love. I’m in a good place now and I am psyched to play the album that meant so much for JOHAN and myself in full, 25 years later.”

In 2024, JOHAN already made a comeback on Dutch live stages after a long sabbatical. They did so to promote the well-received album “The Great Vacation”. They also played a show in Doornroosje back then.
