KAINA is a first-generation Latina, born and raised in Chicago. Kaina writes positive songs about love, cultural past and ancestry, and how these concepts become more complex the older you get.
Her music is an eclectic mix of soul and RnB. The vocalist clearly found inspiration in the mixed, rich musical landscape of her hometown of Chicago, in which genres like hip-hop, indie rock, blues and house music flourish. She prefers to call her music “Chicago music” instead. Her debut “Next to the Sun” is a reference to her Southern roots and is a source of self-exploration for the singer.
