The music of Norwegian band Kalandra is deeply rooted in melancholy Scandinavian folk pop, intertwined with ethereal melodies and gritty guitars.
Kalandra is known for their unique mix of traditional Norwegian influences and modern sounds. With gorgeous vocals and engaging melodies, they evoke an atmosphere that’s both powerful and mesmerizing. The debut album “The Line” came out in 2020, right after the band had a lot of success with singles ‘Brave New World’ and ‘The Waiting Game’, as well as two singles for the HBO series “Beforeigners”. The record opened up new doors and found a wide audience. With the release of single ‘The State of the World’, the band is exploring a fragile side of their sound. The second album is in the works.
The Italian singer/multi-instrumentalist Lili Refrain plays a mixture of folk, dark ambient/drone and improv. She does this on her own. She builds up the songs layer by layer with rhythms, dark and extended key board sounds and beautiful folk vocals.
A night for those who like Wardruna, Myrkur, Sowulo, Forndom and Heilung.
