Klezmagic
Amsterdam Balkan band Klezmagic presents their new album “Op vrije voeten” at a show in Merleyn! The energetic eight-piece band weaves Balkan, Klezmer and their own influences into an explosive mix that is both catchy and touching.
Since their debut album “MAKEDAMSKO” (2019), the band have developed a recognizable sound of their own. They have released multiple singles, as well as an EP and a live album. On their EP “De grote race” (2022), Klezmagic explores the boundaries of Balkan, Klezmer and Ska. With the pumping rhythms, compelling brass section and engaging strings, they can get any audience moving. It does not matter if it’s an intimate club or a festival. Thanks to multiple tours throughout Europe, the band is not just building a fanbase domestically, but also internationally.
In March 2026, Klezmagic is going to release their debut album. “Op vrije voeten” is a diverse album in which the Klezmagic sound is reinvigorated and rediscovered. In a mosaic of influences from Eastern Europe, Turkey, Italy and The Netherlands, the album moves in between melancholy and happiness, the city and nature, chaos and absolute peace. It embraces the ecstasy, yet dares to be small and fragile at the same time. Klezmagic celebrates all this at the show in Merleyn.
