Kurt Vile & The Violators create an exciting mix of introspective and relaxed fuzzed out indie rock, characterized by Vile’s vocals and intriguing guitar-playing.
Last year, they played a sold-out show in Openluchttheater de Goffert. Now Kurt and his companions are coming back to Nijmegen to kick off their European tour on the Purple Stage in Doornroosje. It’s a unique opportunity to see them in an intimate setting.
Kurt Vile is well-known for his nonchalant attitude and fuzzy, 70’s inspired rock songs that come straight from the heart. His most recent album, “(watch my moves)”, came out last year and was met with acclaim.
Kurt Vile was co-founder of The War On Drugs, but by the time the band was ready to release their debut album he preferred a solo career. Ten years on, and he released no fewer than seven albums and 6 mini albums. Especially albums like “Smoke Ring for My Halo” and “Wakin’ on a Pretty Daze” helped him break through to a wider audience. He also joined forces with aesthetics soulmate Courtney Barnett, which resulted in the album “Lotta Sea Lice”.
