French/British band Lizzard release their albums through the German Pelagic label, known for its quality progressive rock and metal releases. And that’s no different for this trio.
The modern mix of styles that Lizzard has on offer includes progressive post-rock and -metal, math rock and noise. This description is not sufficient however, as the overall sound is much more than that. The drums, the riffs are extremely tight and the clean vocals are of textbook-level quality. The bright productions and creative exploits have an almost nostalgic feel to them as well. One thing is abundantly clear above else though: Lizzard knows how to write and play exciting songs. Fans of Tool, Gojira, Helmet, SOEN, Psychonaut and Porcupine Tree should not have any trouble loving this band.
