Long Fling

Long Fling consists of Pip Blom and Willem Smit. You may know them from Pip Blom and Personal Trainer, respectively. The two make charming, eccentric guitar-, drums- and computer anthems about socks, shoes and staying at home.
These are duets, but only as a concept, as there are no yearnings of passion and desire, no climax, not even vocal harmonies. Their music is hard to pin down and effortlessly cool in all the wrong ways, resulting in more questions than answers. Can we call a record DIY when the creators have clearly done this before? Does it even make any sense? And so on. The longer the fling, the better the vocal performances. On stage, Pip and Willem are accompanied by Camiel Muiser, Darek Mercks and Tender Blom to form a five-piece rock band.
