Los Pirañas is a Colombian “supergroup” that consists of Eblis Alvarez (of the Meridian Brothers), Mario Geleano (Frente Cumbiero, Ondatropica), and Pedro Ojeda (Romperayo). The trio builds a bridge between dance music and traditional styles such as cumbia, afrobeat, Peruvian chicha, and Colombian champeta.
Creatively speaking, all band members are jointly responsible for the revival of the traditional Colombian sound. With Los Pirañas, they collectively push musical boundaries even further by attempting unusual combinations. This results in a passionate and danceable musical mix.
Their latest album, “Una oportunidad mas de triunfar en la vida”, was released on the Glitterbeat label. In 2026 they will embark on a short European tour, which includes a stop at Merleyn!
