That the American singer and guitarist Marc Broussard hails from Lafayette, Louisiana, is also reflected in the swampy sound of most of most of songs.
As the son of Ted Broussard, guitarist of The Boogie Kings, he grew up in the music scene of Louisiana. He broke through to a larger audience at the age of 20. He has released a number of albums since then, including a collaboration with Joe Bonamassa on the album “S.O.S. 4: Blues for the Soul” that came out in 2023 and counts as a highlight.
Broussard mixes rhythm & blues, rock and soul to a style of his own that he calls “bayou soul”. His heart is also in the right place: the complete proceeds of his cover album series “S.O.S.” goes to charity. The latest instalment, “Save Our Soul 5”, is coming out on 7 November 2025.
