Master Boot Record and Fulci are coming to Nijmegen for a co-headlining show! Both bands are known for their unique, unmistakable sound. While Master Boot Record mixes 80s computer sounds with metal, Fulci reaches back even further for old school Italian horror movie sounds.
Led by the enigmatic artist Victor Love, Master Boot Record creates an instrumental, retro-futuristic soundscape that bring together heavy metal, chiptune and classical music to create an exciting new sound. Each song is a complex mix of lightning-fast guitar parts, baroque-inspired melodies and 8-Bit synthesizers. All songs have been meticulously arranged to create a sound that is both nostalgic and avant-garde. The programmed drums and buzzing Floppy Drive synths are the core of the rhythm section. It is like listening to the Stranger Things soundtrack on steroids. Master Boot Record knowns how to blend the beating heart of rock ‘n roll with the cold, digital world.
Co-headliner tonight is Fulci. This immensely popular Italian death metal band brings a deafening ode to the horror cinema of Lucio Fulci. With ruthless, groovy riffs, filthy slam passages and a dark, cinematic atmosphere, their sound is like a genuine nightmare at high volume. Live, Fulci sounds like a blood-drenched horror trip full of zombies, gore and ruthless breakdowns: uncompromising, sickeningly heavy and addictively intense.
Arottenbit will be tonight’s opening act. Like Master Boot Record, this solo project combines 8-Bit punk and metal, only it is performed on a Gameboy!
This night is a must-see for fans of Carpenter Brut, Perturbator and Gost, but also of 220 Stab Wounds and Sanguisugabogg.
