MELTS
MELTS demonstrate that postpunk doesn’t always have to be heavy-handed. The Irish band offers their intense electro cyber punk clash with elements of trippy krautrock, noise and new wave.
MELTS say they were discovered by Gilla Band bassist Daniel Fox, who also produced their most recent album “Field Theory” and alerted label Fuzz Club Records to their existence. The album was recorded in the Black Mountain Studios in Dundalk, where other acts like Gavin Friday, Hozier, The Murder Capital and Snow Patrol have recorded in the past as well. The studio a piece of Irish holy ground, in a way. The result is a fantastic album with a kaleidoscopic range of diversity. Krautrock pioneers like Can, Faust and Neu! can be proud of a young gun like this. MELTS is a breath of fresh air within the current wave of Dublin-based postpunk bands.
