Midnight Danger, a collective from Stockholm, Sweden, is a rising star within the so-called synth-wave metal scene. The eighties are an important source of inspiration, leading to a nostalgic trip with throbbing synths and heavy metal riffs in a film-like setting.
The project is the brainchild of producer and guitarist Chris Young who clearly has a passion for synth-wave, horror and metal from the eighties. These influences are worn on his sleeve, which makes the sound so cool. The sound drags the listener back to those days of neon lights, arcade tunes, roller skates, VHS tapes and shoulder pads. The modern production does add another layer to it that makes it hit even harder. Midnight Danger is highly recommended to fans of Carpenter Brut, Gost and Master Boot Record.
