Mooneye is a band fronted by Flemish singer-songwriter Michiel Libberecht that plays a mixture of pop, rock and folk, with some influences of Americana as well. Early 2018, he debuted with his self-titled “Mooneye EP”, with which he won Studio Brussel’s renowned music competition “De Nieuwe Lichting”. Music Magazine OOR described the EP as a “collection of masterful pop songs”.
The comparisons with Fleet Foxes and Neil Young are probably going to stick for some time. It is hard to deny that new Mooneye material is sticking to the same quality sound of folk, rock and indie pop. The gorgeous debut album “Big Enough” brought the band even more acclaim and fame in Belgium. ‘In Between’ is the name of the first new single and is a teaser for an album that’s expected to hit stores early 2024.
