My Brightest Diamond
My Brightest Diamond is the name of the solo project of American singer, songwriter and arranger Shara Nova. Her music has clear influences from both classical music and contemporary genres like rock, folk and electro. This offers a beautiful framework for the crystal-clear mezzo-soprano voice of Shara Nova.
Shara Nova was classically trained to become an opera singer in the United States and in Moscow. Her remarkable talent has been noticed by fellow musicians in recent years. She collaborated with artists like David Byrne, Sufjan Stevens and The Decemberists. Her new album “Fight the Real Terror” just came out through the quality label Secretly Canadian. With this brand-new record in tow, she will come to Merleyn on Monday 11 November. It will be her first Dutch show in five years. As almost always, My Brightest Diamond will play solo.
